About us
The Velo-City brand had its beginnings in 2008, when Frankas Wurft, Jonas Dovydėnas and Dainius Lanauskas established the corporation “BalticCycle.” Jonas and Dainius are also responsible for the establishment of Velotaksi services in Vilnius. Frankas Wurft is an active board member of The Lithuanian Cyclists’ Community, one of the founding members of the English and German informational website www.balticcycle.eu about cycling in the Baltic States, and administrator of the Lithuanian informational website www.dviratis.lt for cycling fans in Lithuania. All three of them have been actively involved in the world of bicycles and cycling culture for at least ten years.
Services provided
• Bicycle rental and rental of Bicycle equipment (panniers, helmets, child seats, etc.);
• Bicycle tours of Vilnius and surrounding areas;
• Sale of “ORTLIEB” panniers;
• Inter-city Bicycle transportation;
• Bicycle route maps and written descriptions or routes;
• Advice about interesting bicycle routes;
• General consultation and advice.
We offer our services to residents of Vilnius and Klaipeda, as well as guests to these cities.
DAINIUS LANAUSKAS
Dainius was born in 1975, in the town of Alytus. When he was 16, he moved to Kaunas to study at The Kaunas High School of Fine Arts. Afterwards, he went on to receive a Master’s degree in sculpture from the Vilnius Academy of Fine Arts. As student, he was actively involved in several NGO’s, including the Lithuanian National Union of Students. Upon finishing his studies, he continued working with the Vilnius Academy of Fine Arts as a public relations officer. In 2005 he established his own company UAB “Vilnius Group,” which currently owns the following brands Velo-taksi Velotaksi, Holiday Guide, Dailu.
Dainius’s motto in life is “business as usual,” which is often transformed into “love as usual.”

JONAS DOVYĖNAS
Jonas was born in 1979, in Vilnius. He finished his secondary education at the Vilnius lyceum, and then went on to study Law and Public Administration at the Mykolas Romeris University. As a student, he was an active member of the Lithuanian National Union of Students and the Mykolas Riomeris University students union. After graduating from university, Jonas began work at the Lithuanian Neighbouring Rights Association as a lawyer and vice-director.
Aside from his love for bicycles, Jonas also likes everything that has anything to do with music. He is currently the director of “Vilnius Art Centre” (this public interest group has been administrating the youth culture portal Ore.lt). for the last ten years).

FRANKAS WURFT
Frankas was born in 1973 in Langenhagen, Germany. He graduated from the University of Hanover with a Master’s degree in political science. In 1999, he came to Lithuania and became, in his own words “a German from Žvėrynas.” From his very first days in Lithuania, Frank was very active in propagating bicycle culture in our land. He is an active board member of The Lithuanian Cyclists’ Community, one of the founding members of the English and German informational website www.balticcycle.eu, and administrator of the Lithuanian informational website www.dviratis.lt . He also devotes much of his time and expertise to consultation, speaking engagements, seminars, projects, etc. on the subject of cycling. Frankas also runs city-tours of Vilnius by bicycle, and is fluent in German, Lithuanian, English, French, and Esperanto.

Rent location, working hours
We are located in the Vilnius old town, Bernardinų street10, apt. 6, across from St. Anne’s Church.
Our extended hours for the month of August:
Monday-Thursday: 10 am – 8 pm (10.00-20.00)
Friday- Sunday: 10 am – 9 pm (10.00-21.00 / may close earlier due to poor weather conditions for cycling)
